Debbie Myers and Friends Benefit for Maine Homeless Veterans this Sunday
There has been a challenge issued to top officials around the country from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to end homelessness among veterans within five years. Brian Stiller, Togus Medical Center Director thinks it can be accomplished, but not by the VA alone. In Maine, on any given night, there are between 600 to 1000 homeless vets and the actual number may be higher since homeless vets in rural areas never make it to homeless shelters so they never get counted. These are the people that served our country and were willing, if necessary, to put their life on the line for our freedom.
