Being a pro athlete takes a ridiculous amount of hard work and dedication. You have to watch your diet to the most detailed calorie. You have to do an ungodly amount of strength and endurance training. You put your career, future and life on the line every time you take the playing field. Believe it or not, the same can be said for pro-horseshoes throwers.

Could lightning strike twice two seasons in a row? Almost. My Lisbon Left-Hand Club Horseshoe league teams, The Rats, were the last place team last season and won the playoffs! This year we finished 14th out of 17 teams and in the first round of the playoffs and in the 1st round of the playoffs we defeated the 3rd place team.

Here’s an update on the first round of the Lisbon Left-Hand Club Horseshoe League playoffs, WE WON! It’s kind of a funny situation, last season we were the 16th place team and had to play the 1st team in the first round of the playoffs. We won in a tiebreaker, 4-3. As fate would have it, this year we are the 14th place team and we faced the 3rd place team in the playoffs. It was the same team we faced last season in the first round!

The Lisbon Left-Hand Club Horseshoe league is set to start their playoffs tonight. Last season, the team I am on, pulled off what could be the biggest upset since the New York Jets defeated the Baltimore Colts in Superbowl III. We finished last during the regular season and won the league playoffs!
