Maine Gas Prices Drop Slightly

The summer travel season is under way, and there is some good news for Maine motorists, as gas prices in the state dropped by slightly more than a penny this week. That's according to the gas monitoring website MaineGasPrices.com, which surveys more than 1,200 gas stations in the state.

The trend of gas prices dropping continued this week. Maine gas prices are down another 3 cents a gallon this week for an average price of $3.50. That's according to the gas price-monitoring website, MaineGasPrices.com.

Maine drivers are filling up for less this week, as gas prices in the Pine Tree State have dropped nearly six cents, to an average of $3.63 a gallon. That's a drop of almost 15 cents per gallon from a month ago and 33 cents lower a gallon than this same time last year.

Prices are down almost 12 cents in the past month and are 20 cents per gallon lower than this time last year. Maine is still nine cents higher than the national average.
