B98.5, Maine Army National Guard Tanksgiving Food Drive, November 4-8

As we get ready to start our 14th annual Tanksgiving food drive there are some alarming facts about hunger in Maine. Ten years ago 9 percent of the state’s population, about 53,000, didn’t have enough food to put on their table. That number has jumped to 15 percent today, or 132,000 Mainer’s.

Randy’s College Football Wrap Up, Week 10

It is week 10 in College Football and #1 Alabama had the week off. On October 5th the Michigan Wolverines beat Minnesota to win the oldest division rival trophy, ‘The Little Brown Jug’, but this Saturday they lost to Michigan State and the Spartans won the second oldest division rival trophy ‘The Paul Bunyan Trophy’. State won 29-6.

Really? Maine Tops the List of States That Drink The Most?

All-righty-then, pass the Allen's. According to this survey from 'Blowfish for Hangovers', Maine is at the top of the list of states that drink the most. Maine is followed on the list by Wyoming, Alaska, Delaware and Washington D.C. But we are Mainers, we don’t complain about hangovers! Maine did NOT make the top five list of those who do whine about hangovers.

If you've never been to the Damariscotta Pumpkinfest, you missed out again this year! It was so much fun!

You need to watch the giant pumpkins that have been carved out to become boats! The races always come down to the wire! And when Larry and Don yell "Ready? Set? Get Wet!" the paddlers do their darnedest to navigate through the cold Maine waters around the pumpkin buoys to come in first!
