On April 21, NASCAR 2014 Sprint Cup champion Kevin Harvick and his #4 Chevrolet were honored at the White House. The ceremony took place on the south lawn and the car was big point of interest to the President.
Jimmie Johnson passed Kevin Harvick and Jamie McMurray on the same lap, and hung on to win the Duck Commander 500 at Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday night.
Kurt Busch was cleared on Wednesday to return to the racetrack and attempt to rebuild his career. Busch was suspended by NASCAR two days prior to the Daytona 500 for allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend.
It was the Winston Cup, then the Nextel Cup and now the NASCAR sponsor is Sprint. It is called the Sprint Cup and will remain that way through the 2016 season but after that NASCAR will be looking for a new sponsor.
The current secondary NASCAR race is the Nationwide series but that may change soon. NASCAR and Comcast’s Xfinity are in negotiations to become the title sponsor. It would be a five to six year deal at more than $100 million with the first year’s rights and activation fees $9 million for each or $18 million.

The Robertson’s from Duck Dynasty fame and owners of the Duck Commander Company are the new sponsors for the Independence Bowl played in Shreveport, Louisiana. It will now be known as the Duck Commander Independence Bowl
