Authorities are searching for a man who entered a church in Charleston, South Carolina, on Wednesday night and killed nine people before fleeing. Among the dead are six women and three men, including the church's pastor, Clementa Pinckney, who was also a state senator.
Early this morning (April 22) Dover-Foxcroft Police officers arrived at an apparent shooting on Lancaster Avenue. Two men had to be transported to Mayo Regional Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft, while another was flown by LifeFlight helicopter to Bangor to Eastern Maine Medical Center.
Four people, including the gunman, were killed and 16 others injured in a shooting at Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas Wednesday evening. Fort Hood officials said the gunman was a soldier who had been receiving mental health treatment and that he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
