John Glenn Oldest Person in Space

Today, October 29, is a special day in NASA history as astronaut John Glenn became the oldest person to travel in space. Glenn was the first American to orbit the Earth aboard Mercury’s Friendship 7, orbiting Earth three times in about five hours. Alan Shepard and Virgil ‘Gus’ Grissom, where the first American’s in space, but did not travel all the way around the planet.

Coolest Dad Ever!

Sometimes when you read stories, you're like "Why didn't I think of that?" This is one such story and...it can be done!

Every child has their favorite toy. Anderson's is Beanie, the stuffed cat we made at The Fun Park in Benton over a year ago. Not an afternoon goes by when he doesn't run up the stairs when we get home from school and he finds her. He brings her downstairs and we do homework with Beanie, we cook with Beanie. Beanie is even a character on our Wii gaming system. I don't think I could use Beanie for this project but anything else would be cool!

THIS child's favorite toy is a train named Stanley. And you'll NEVER guess where Stanley goes!

Space Shuttle Endeavour Final Flight

It was a once in a lifetime opportunity, a chance to see the final flight of the Space Shuttle Endeavour. It wasn't flying in space, it was piggybacked on a 747 and flying over the skies of California. Tens of thousands of onlookers climbed hilltops and rooftops, came out of office buildings and houses, and got out of their cars to look at the historic final flight of the Endeavour. It flew over the State Capital, Sacramento, to the Golden Gate Bridge to Disneyland.
