NYCC 2012: 'Firefly' the Animated Series In the Works?

Considering we still mark years with four digits, more rumors of a 'Firefly' reunion have begun to spill out, though not as we've previously heard them. This past weekend, the cast reunited at New York Comic-Con 2012 for another 10-year reunion panel much as it had in San Diego, but this time a speck of new data escaped out into the 'verse: could the possibility of an actual reunion be in play as an animated series? According to one cast members, the idea has come farther than you might think...

For a series with such a specific title as 'How I Met Your Mother,' the series has gone above and beyond these last eight years to tell a wealth of stories at times completely unrelated to the titular mother's identity. Still, with a ninth season of the show still yet to be locked down, the current may prove to be the last, meaning we'll meet her fairly soon! We may not keep up with FOX's thriving family comedy 'Raising Hope' all that often, but when 'Back to the Future' gets thrown into the mix, you can bet we're gonna see some serious sh*t. Not only that, but it seems Doc Brown himself Christopher Lloyd will guest star on the episode to get in on the fun! But where (or when) could 'Raising Hope' go with a 'Back to the Future' episode, and who could Lloyd play if not himself?

As much as we love the current crop of TV infecting all of our Sundays, from 'Boardwalk Empire' to 'Dexter,' 'The Walking Dead' and beyond, we can't help feelikng like we're in need of a return to more down-to-Earth fare. Did Hannah find some new way to alienate both herself and Adam? Did Amy find another way to change her life? We know 'Girls' and 'Enlightened' will return next year, but when will HBO give us an exact date? Oh, right now? Sweet!
