The remarkable discovery was made last week by researchers.

The young whale was found washed up on a Steuben beach, and people were soon posing with the carcass and posting it on social media.

The photo was captured by the New England Aquarium.

This whale is rarely seen in Maine waters.

It was a very rare occurrence indeed when fisherman found two conjoined grey whales on a beach inside the Ojo de Liebre lagoon near the town of Guerrero Negro, Baja Peninsula, Mexico. According to biologists the calves died shortly after birth.
