Winthrop police say four masked men barged their way into an elderly woman's apartment last weekend. The men knocked on the her door just after midnight on Sunday. When the 71 year old answered, the men forced their way in. They left after the woman gave them money from her purse. Police suspect the burglars were looking for prescription drugs.

Town councilors, residents along the road and the Maine Department Of Transportation officials agreed to a plan to add rumble strips down the center line in the next construction season.
