On this day, October 8, 1956, is the day Don Larsen of the New York Yankees pitched a perfect game in the World Series. That means no runs, no hits and no errors…not one base runner the entire game. Larsen’s perfect game is the only one in Major League Baseball postseason and World Series history. The last batter Larsen faced was Brooklyn Dodgers pinch hitter Dale Mitchell, who was called out on a third strike.
