In the midst Tuesday’s tense elimination round on ‘Dancing With the Stars,’ none other than Taylor Swift took the stage to ease the pressure at the end of the show. Wearing short black shorts, a white shirt with black polka-dots and — you guessed it — a red bowtie, Swift played her hit song ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together’ as a crew of professional dancers put on an awesome performance.
Swift fittingly started out her performance on a platform against a red background. In her typical dramatic style, she acted out the lyrics to ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together’ looking exasperated, angry and excited at various points of the song. While the country starlet sang out the anthem against an ex-boyfriend (we still haven’t figured out which one), several professional dancers hit the floor to put on an incredible choreographed interpretation of the popular tune.
During a week when the ‘Red’ hitmaker has appeared on practically ever television network at one point or another, it’s surprising that Swift didn’t seem to tire at all. Rather, she put on yet another energetic performance that kept the audience on their feet and screaming — oh, and dancing.
After she closed out the last words of the tune against a (very appropriate) red screen and white heart, the country songbird had the opportunity to chat with host Tom Bergeron.
“I don’t know if this has come up before, but I’m listening to you sing, and I’m reminded of Sean Connery,” he told her, as the audience giggled.
“Thank you so much,” Swift replied sarcastically.
“Because Sean Connery played James Bond and after he was done, he said, ‘I’m never gonna play James Bond again,'” Bergeron explained, adding, “Until the James Bond movie ‘Never Say Never Again.’ So I’m wondering, is this never a Sean Connery never?”
“This is like, ever,” Swift replied.
“Okay, that’s clear,” Bergeron said.
All in all, it was another successful night for Swift: She put on a flawless performance and had the audience laughing before she walked off stage. She did it again!
