The Band Perry have signed a new record deal with Interscope Records, according to a published report. The sibling trio are "transitioning to pop" with their upcoming new release.

According to Billboard, Kimberly, Reid and Neil Perry are still working on an upcoming third studio album, tentatively titled Heart + Beat, that will encompass some of the songs that they recorded before they announced their departure from Big Machine Label Group and Republic Nashville in March of 2016.

The move is not completely unexpected. The trio released a lead single from the project titled "Live Forever" in August of 2015, which was a dramatic step away from their established sound and into the pop arena, but it did not find widespread success at country radio, landing well outside the Top 20. Though it wasn't particularly successful in its initial release, "Live Forever" was recently given new life when it was selected as Team USA's official song for the 2016 Olympics.

“‘Live Forever’ is really about those moments that make you feel like you’re going to live forever and that really is the spirit of the Olympics,” Kimberly Perry tells the Today Show. “We’re just really honored to bring that song to these guys.”

The band members turned to social media in February to assure fans that despite rumors, they were not breaking up.

“We wanted to look you guys all in the eyes and say the Band Perry is not going anywhere,” Kimberly stated. “We are here to stay. Our music is here to stay.”

Heart + Beat was originally scheduled for release in November of 2015, but the band announced it had been delayed in a statement that month. They were excited about the recording process, saying the bold colors they'd chosen for the "Live Forever" artwork were indicative of the new music they were making.

“With this project we’ve had more fun than we’ve ever had in the studio,” Kimberly said in September. “Everything is so colorful and enthusiastic and happy. We’re walking out of the studio with giant smiles on our faces.”

Billboard reports that while the Band Perry's new releases will be handled out of Interscope's Los Angeles office, the trio will still "keep a foot in the country format" by releasing select singles via Interscope's sister label, UMG Nashville.
