There will be some exciting hockey being played at Sukee Arena in Winslow this Saturday as the Boston Bruins Alumni come to town. They will be playing a team of some of Central Maine’s best all to benefit the Boston Children’s Hospital and the friends of Dick Morin. Dick Morin’s handicapped van was in an accident and money raised will help toward the purchase of a new van.

Rick ‘Nifty’ Middleton, one of the Boston Bruins all-time great scorers, will be coming to play. Middleton played for Boston for 12 years and had five straight seasons of at least 40 goals. He scored nearly 900 points while with the Bruins and still holds the shorthanded goals record with 25.

Coming with Rick will be Reggie Lemelin, Glen Featherstone, Bob Sweeney, Bruce Shoebottom, Terry O’Reilly and more. Tickets are only $10 and are available at the Point Afta in Winslow (they are also the sponsors) or get them Saturday, Nov.  1 at the door.

This will be a fun event with a lot of great hockey, but a lot of clowning around too. Game time is 6:30 p.m. More info is available by calling the Point Afta at 649-3156.

Rick Middelton joined the Morning Buzz recently to discuss the game.
