The Electricity Business is Booming in Maine

C.N. Brown is the latest to offer competitive electricity rates across much of Maine. The heating oil company that operates gas stations and Big Apple convenience stores is now branching into the electricity market.

C.N.Brown has 30,000 home heating customers and now hopes to sell electricity to their heating oil customers and others who are interested. Maine has allowed competitive electric providers for more than a decade. Electricity Maine, which opened in 2011, has been hugely successful with nearly 190,000 customers.
