Augusta's violent crime rate of 4.76 per 1,000 people is above the national average of 3.8 per 1,000. Augusta was also above average when it came to the property crime rate. Augusta property crime rate of 61.32 per 1,000, while the national average is 26 per 1,000.

The second safest neighborhood in Augusta is also the largest in area and it covers along routes 201, 105 and 202. Heading out to the Vassalboro town line and also covers the North Belfast Avenue area.
