“The New Year Means Nothing If…

...you're still in love with your comfort zone."  That was something I read at the beginning of 2014.  In my head and in my heart, I knew I needed a change and I was going to make it happen in 2014.  I just wasn't sure what that change would be or how I would achieve it.  Ultimately, my wildest imagination never could have predicted I would be where I am right now.

I thought my stars might be changing in April when I spontaneously auditioned for a spot with another radio station.  I left feeling like I didn't get to show my real personality.  I didn't get to share who I really was.  I knew I wouldn't get the job but it wasn't until a couple months later I would learn that when God gives you a "No", give him a "Thank You".  He was protecting me from less than His best.

On June 14th, I bumped into Randy McCoy at the Pet Expo at Fort Halifax in Winslow.  We got to talking and one thing led to another, I was set up with multiple interviews and a waiting game that taught me patience like nothing else.  I held the vision and trusted the process.

On July 3rd, bright and early (because that's how radio works), I got the phone call that forever changed my life.  I was offered the position on the Morning Buzz with B98.5.  I immediately called my #1 fan, my husband.  He is still trying to regain his hearing in his right ear from all the screaming I did.

On July 25th, I walked away from a career as a medical assistant.  I was scared and nervous.  But, did what I felt was right for me.  On August 4th, I officially started my new hobby as a radio personality.  I say hobby because this job is just too much fun to be called "work".  I still have to pinch myself, it doesn't seem real.

These last 4 months have been amazing.  The people I've met.  The people I've been able to help (ie: Tanksgiving & bell ringing).  Life can't get much better than this and if it does, it's a bonus.  Thank you to all the listeners who have welcomed me into their homes, cars, work or wherever you listen to B98.5.

Don't rush on anything, when the time is right, it WILL happen.  Make 2015 the very best and do it with a smile!  Cheers
