The Red Barn, on Riverside Drive in Augusta, is known nationwide for their frequent fundraising events.  This Monday's event is aimed at providing children with autism a chance to spend some time with Santa and Mrs. Claus in an appropriate  environment.

Additionally, all food will be by donation and all of the proceeds will go to Autism Speaks.  The organization was founded in 2005 by Bob and Suzanne Wright, grandparents of a child with autism.  The goal of the organization is to advance research into autism and to enhance the lives of individuals with autism.

This is the second Autism Speaks fundraiser The Red Barn has held.  The first was held in February and, according to owner Laura Benedict, it was a great success and the most rewarding experience in all of her Red Barn ventures.
