The Undefeated 1972 Miami Dolphins Finally Make It to the White House
It took 41 years but the undefeated Miami Dolphins football team from 1972 finally made it to the White House. 31 team mates from the ’72 team attended the ceremony to honor their accomplishment and their win in the Super Bowl over the Washington Redskins.
The Dolphins are the only team in the Super Bowl era to have an unbeaten season going 17-0. When the Dolphins won the big game in 1972, then President Nixon didn’t invite them to the White House because he was in the middle of the Watergate scandal.
