Season 11 of The Voice is off to a fun start. The bromance and friendly competition between Blake Shelton and Adam Levine remains, while Alicia Keys and Miley Cyrus join the team for the first time as coaches. During Monday night's (Sept. 19) premiere, Texas singer Sundance Head wowed the judges with his soulful cover of Otis Redding's "I've Been Loving You Too Long."

Only a few notes in, Levine slapped his big red button, followed seconds later by Shelton. But once Levine got sight of Head, he immediately was troubled.

"Why do you have to have a hat and boots on? Why?! Why?" he asks in the above clip, throwing a piece of paper.

Shelton, of course, was sure he had his shot with the singer. Comparing him to "a mystery man riding in here on his country music horse," Head was quick to correct him.

"Soul country music horse," he adds.

And with that, Levine was certain he had a shot with the singer.

"There's a little bit of Travis Tritt, Chris Stapleton, Ronnie Milsap and a little bit of Southern rock in there too, man," Shelton says. "There's something so different about you."

Levine admits he is "so sick" of the genre thing that Shelton always places on the more country leaning contestants. "You always are too quick to put them in the box. What the hell are you? That's the best part about you and if you're on my team we're going to do a whole lot of different and I think that's what's going to make you really succeed on this show," Levine says. "I want to be a part of next time, please."

Shelton was quick to dig at Levine, saying that the pop singer will be a part of next time just like the audience is by enjoying all of his performances, since he will pick the country singer as his coach.

After some more back and forth between Levine and Shelton, two of Head's three children come to the stage, and Cyrus asks them who their dad should choose as his coach. Their answer: Blake Shelton. After some deliberation, he does choose Shelton, giving the country star one more reason to gloat over Levine.
