Gov. Paul LePage says he will appear on “Fox and Friends" this morning. He tweeted Sunday it will be about 7am and he will be talking about Maine and welfare reforms.

About 20 people were protesting the KKK in Maine. According to centralmaine.com the group gathered Saturday in Skowhegan and its in response a few KKK flyers that were found in central Maine last month.

Mainers will be grounded next year if legislators don't make driver's licenses comply with new federal requirements. A state-issued driver's license can no longer get you into military bases, nuclear power plants and other federal facilities. And starting next year, the IDs won't get you onto commercial planes. The issue is making it harder for truckers to deliver to the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.

A state task force says that help from the private sector could help address Maine's low third-grade literacy rates. About 36 percent of Maine fourth-graders are proficient in reading according to test scores, compared with 43 percent in New England.

Foreclosure filings launched by state-chartered banks have continued to drop below recession-era levels. A recent state report found Maine's state-chartered banks and credit unions held 74,000 first-lien mortgages at the end of 2016. Of those, 183 were in the process of foreclosure.

Maine police want clarification about how President Donald Trump's administration will approach legal marijuana. White House press secretary Sean Spicer said Thursday he expects states with legalized recreational pot to be subject to more enforcement of federal marijuana laws.

The Maine Lobstering Union has voted to spend $4 million to buy a lobster business in a move members hope will give fishermen a bigger share of profits. The union voted on Saturday to buy the wholesale side of the Trenton Bridge Lobster Pound. The Portland Press Herald (http://bit.ly/2mk2P2E) reports the pound includes a tank that can hold up to 180,000 pounds of lobster.

The state will be answering questions about its efforts to build a regional school. The state wants to fund a new, regional high school that includes career and technical education and partnerships with Maine's higher education institutions.

An awkward moment at Sunday night's Oscars. The producers of "La La Land" were nearly done with their acceptance speeches for best picture when "La La Land" producer Jordan Horowitz returned to the microphone and said it was "Moonlight" that had actually won best picture. Horowitz insisted it was "not a joke" and even held up the card showing that "Moonlight" was the true winner.

Emma Stone's portrayal of a struggling actress in "La La Land" has won her best actress at Sunday night's Academy Award show. Casey Affleck won best actor for his portrayal of a grieving father in "Manchester by the Sea." Other Oscar winners are Mahershala Ali as best supporting actor for "Moonlight," Viola Davis as best supporting actress for "Fences" and "Moonlight" as best picture.

President Donald Trump says "Perhaps health care will come up" when he meets Monday with the nation's governors. Trump referred to the repealing of the so-called Obamacare law Sunday night when he gave the toast at a White House black-tie ball for the state leaders and their spouses. The ball was the first major social event of Trump's administration.

President Donald Trump is expected to sign a new refugee and immigration executive order on Wednesday, one day after addressing lawmakers at a joint session of Congress. That's according to a senior administration official. Trump initially planned to sign the new order last week, but as spokesman Sean Spicer puts it, the president was holding off "to make sure that when we execute this, it's done in a manner that's flawless."

A big boost in defense spending and a cut in funding for Republican targets like the Environmental Protection Agency are part of President Donald Trump's proposals for the 2018 budget year. Those marching orders will be sent to agencies on Monday as the White House prepares its budget for the upcoming fiscal year. That's according to an administration official who says it won't make significant changes to Social Security or Medicare.

China is sending its first senior official to visit the United States since President Donald Trump took office. China's Foreign Ministry says State Councilor Yang Jiechi is scheduled to "exchange views on bilateral ties and issues of mutual concern" in meetings with high-ranking U.S. officials on Monday and Tuesday. His visit comes as the future direction of relations between the world's two largest economies has grown more uncertain following Trump's accusation that China was cheating at trade and threats to raise import tariffs.

Actor Bill Paxton has died of complications from surgery. He was 61. Paxton had memorable roles in such blockbusters as "Apollo 13" and "Titanic." He also starred in the TV series "Big Love," about a polygamous family. Paxton's co-star Ginnifer Goodwin, says "Bill had the biggest heart. He was more alive than the others. I'm having a lot of trouble understanding his being gone from my life and the world."
