A Massachusetts man died Sunday snowmobiling in Eustis. According to centralmaine.com Dennis Picard, 60, of South Chatham, Massachusetts lost control of his machine on a sharp corner and hit a tree. This was the seventh fatal snowmobile crash this season.

Waterville police found a man in Champions Fitness Club early Sunday morning after he hid in the club at closing time.  According to centralmaine.com he was making himself at home in the club after hours and even had a pizza delivered. He was getting ready to take a shower when the police arrived and arrested him.

Centralmaine.com reports the Winthrop Post Office will have to be torn down after the fire last week. They do plan to rebuild and no official word yet on the cause.

The new fire station in Augusta is getting close to completion. According to centralmaine.com it should be done in April or May.

The record warmth in northern New England may not be over. The National Weather Service says the temps will be near record levels in the region. The warm continues from last week. For Maine the mid-winter cold returns Friday, just in time for the weekend.

Maine's towns and legislators will tackle the subject of marijuana legalization in separate events. The Legislature's Marijuana Implementation Committee is taking public comment on Tuesday in Augusta on subjects such as how to regulate and tax the substance. Also Tuesday, the Maine Municipal Association is holding an event called "Lifting the Haze: Marijuana and Legal Considerations."

The record warmth in northern New England may not be over. The National Weather Service says the temperature is projected to climb to a record-high 65 degrees for Wednesday in Concord, New Hampshire. In Portland, Maine, the temperature is projected to climb to 57 degrees, just 1 degree shy of the daily record.

The Peace Corps says the University of Vermont ranks 8th in the country in the production of volunteers from medium sized universities. The University of New Hampshire ranked 21st in the medium-sized school category while Maine's Bowdoin College ranked 13th among small schools.

Ham radio operators say their frequencies are increasingly getting a harsh buzz from a component of the indoor lamps used to grow pot. The American Radio Relay League has been filing complaints with the Federal Communications Commission over the past several years and wants federal regulators to halt the marketing and sale of illegal grow light ballasts.

What was a family trip to a cheerleading competition in Riverside, California, has ended in a deadly plane crash. Authorities say a small plane crashed plowed into two houses shortly after takeoff Monday, killing three people and injuring two. A husband, wife and three teenagers were on the plane. No one on the ground was hurt.

Russia has pledged to veto a Western-backed U.N. resolution on Tuesday that would impose sanctions on 21 Syrian individuals, organizations and companies allegedly involved in chemical weapons attacks. The draft Security Council resolution would also ban the supplying of helicopters, which investigators say were used in chemical attacks.

An activist who will deliver a Democratic response in Spanish to President Donald Trump's first speech to a joint session of Congress on Tuesday plans to address the crackdown on undocumented immigrants and the need for affordable health care. Astrid Silva was brought into the country illegally as a child. Former Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear (buh-SHEER') will give the English-language response.

An official with the Jewish Community Center Association of North America is calling on Congress and all elected officials to condemn the recent wave of bomb threats against Jewish community centers and schools. There were threats against 21 facilities on Monday. There have been scores of similar threats this year.

SpaceX won't put a price tag on it or say whose buying, but the high tech firm says it will fly two people to the moon next year. Founder Elon Musk says two people who know one another approached the company about sending them on a weeklong flight. The mission would not involve a landing. Musk said SpaceX is on track to launch astronauts to the International Space Station in mid-2018. This moon mission would be later.
