A woman’s body was retrieved from the Kennebec in Norridgewock last night. According to WCSH, it may be connected to a boat crash between Norridgewock and Skowhegan. The game wardens are urging everyone to be careful when near or on the water this holiday weekend.

Federal money is headed to the Augusta State Airport. According to WABI, the FAA has awarded nearly $395,000 to the airport. The funds will replace pavement that is no longer good.

The Kennebec Arsenal driveway is blocked.  According to the KJ, the developer is concerned about illegal activity. The trail on the land is still open to the public.

According to the Associated Press, officials in a Maine town have approved plans to build a community solar farm next to state Route 32. The Morning Sentinel reports that the China planning board on Tuesday approved a plan by New England solar energy company ReVision Energy to build the farm on an uncultivated field.

Maine State Police are stepping up traffic enforcement starting this holiday weekend, and continue through the summer. State Police will utilize additional troopers, unmarked cruisers and an airplane throughout July and Augusta, the busiest and deadliest period on Maine roads.

Gov. Paul LePage says he'll ask legislators to make ankle bracelets a condition of bail for people accused of domestic violence. LePage ran away from home at age 11 to escape abuse. He spoke Thursday during a press conference announcing a report revealing Maine's 24 domestic homicides in 2014 and 2015 accounted for slightly more than half of all homicides.

A federal judge has blocked a Mississippi law that would have allowed merchants and government employees to deny or delay services to same-sex couples based on religious beliefs. U.S. District Judge Carlton Reeves issued orders in two lawsuits just moments before the law was to take effect Friday. The law also protected the belief that sex should only take place in a marriage between a man and a woman.

Key portions of a Florida abortion law have been blocked by a federal judge, the day before the law was to take effect on Friday. Planned Parenthood had challenged three parts of the law that Gov. Rick Scott signed into law earlier this year, including one that prevents any state or local funds from going to an organization that provides abortions.

Casino workers at Atlantic City's Trump Taj Mahal casino are about to go on strike. Their union has been unable to reach agreement on a new contract, and so some 1,000 main casino workers will walk off the job at 6 a.m. Eastern Time. The casino is owned by billionaire investor Carl Icahn.

Police in Bangladesh are blaming radical Islamist for a deadly attack on a Hindu temple worker. Police say the worker was hacked to death in southwest Bangladesh Friday, and at least three assailants fled the scene on a motorbike. The attack happened as the temple worker was plucking flowers for his morning prayers. At least 18 people, including atheist bloggers, foreign aid workers and religious minorities, have been killed in attacks over the last two years.
