A car crashed into the Little Caesars in Augusta yesterday.  WMTW reports, no one was hurt but it caused thousands in damage.

The owners of the Winslow two dogs that attacked and killed a Boston terrier are trying to save their dogs from being put down. According to centralmaine.com they have denied the charge of keeping dangerous dogs.

State police are saying the owners account of what happened when her horse was hit in Canaan last week is not adding up.  According to WGME, the do believe the horse was hit but have yet to find the driver.

A New York man charged in the Maine shooting deaths of a couple on Christmas will go to trial next summer. Centralmaine.com reports he was indicted in February on murder charges in the shooting deaths of 35-year-old Eric Williams and 26-year-old Bonnie Royer.

Maine State Police are awaiting positive identification from the state medical examiner of a body found behind the home of a missing woman in Fairfield. State police say cadaver dogs found the body believed to be that of a woman within minutes of conducting a search Tuesday. They were looking for Valerie Tieman, who's been missing for three weeks.

A coalition of 21 states, including Maine, are suing the U.S. Department of Labor over a new rule that would make more higher-earning workers eligible for overtime pay. The measure would shrink the so-called "white collar exemption" and more than double the salary threshold under which employers must pay overtime to their workers.

Maine is looking to create more room for New England cottontail rabbits, a species that was once a common sight in the state. The state's Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife plans to improve some habitat for the rabbits within an area of its Scarborough Marsh Wildlife Management Area.

Maine's wild blueberry crop was better than expected this year despite a drought that has hit some sectors of New England agriculture hard. The executive director of Wild Blueberry Commission of Maine says the state most likely hit its five-year average of about 93 million pounds of blueberries. Maine is by far the largest wild blueberry-producing state in the country.

Federal court papers give a chilling glimpse into what authorities say motivated the man accused of last weekend's bombings in New York and New Jersey. The documents say that two years ago, the FBI looked into Ahmad Khan Rahami but came up with nothing tying him to terrorism. Authorities say the Afghan-born U.S. citizen bought bomb ingredients on eBay and recorded a video of himself igniting a blast in a backyard.

Angry street protests erupted in Charlotte, North Carolina, Tuesday, after a police officer shot an armed black man at an apartment complex. Police say demonstrators destroyed marked police vehicles and about 12 officers were injured, including one who was hit in the face with a rock. Television coverage showed police firing tear gas to break up the crowd.

Oklahoma police say investigators found the drug PCP in the vehicle of an unarmed black man fatally shot by a white officer. Attorneys for the family of Terence Crutcher say a discussion of drugs distracts from questions about the use of deadly force. A Tulsa police officer fatally shot the 40-year-old on Friday after responding to a report of a stalled vehicle.

Witnesses are describing Monday's attack on a Syrian Arab Red Crescent warehouse and convoy, saying aerial bombardment continued as rescue workers rushed to pull the wounded from the flaming wreckage and rubble. The United States is blaming Russia for the attack, saying that it was Russia's job under the week-old cease-fire to prevent Syria's air force from striking areas where humanitarian aid was being delivered.

The United States has again flown a pair of supersonic bombers over ally South Korea in a show of force following North Korea's latest nuclear test earlier this month. U.S. Forces Korea says one of the two B-1B bombers landed at Osan Air Base Wednesday, 75 miles from the border with North Korea. It's the second fly over in two weeks. Such flyovers are common when animosity rises on the Korean Peninsula.

Torrential rains on the Indonesian island of Java are triggering floods and landslides that have killed at least 19 villagers. A spokesman for the National Disaster Management Mitigation Agency says several people are still missing in West Java. Rains frequently caused landslides and widespread flooding across much of Indonesia.

A federal judge in Pennsylvania has ordered prison officials to end a convicted murderer's 36-year stay in solitary confinement, saying any concerns he might try to escape are outweighed by arguments that he has endured cruel and unusual punishment. Sixty-four-year-old Arthur Johnson has been kept in a 7-by-10-foot cell at the prison in Frackville. He's had TV and radio, but his cell is lit at all times. Prison officials have been ordered to transfer Johnson to an appropriate facility.
