For the most part, comic book movies have stuck to summer release dates of late, so it will be interesting to see how 'Thor: The Dark World' fares this November. But of all the superheroes, Thor seems the most autumnal (perhaps it's the thunder). But we've now got the film's first TV spot, as the film opens in a little over two months.

It seems the spot offers a smidge of new footage, and plays up that Thor (Chris Hemsworth) must work with both Jane (Natalie Portman) and Loki (Tom Hiddleston) to stop Malekith the Accursed (Christopher Eccleston) and prevent the destruction of Earth. Perhaps it's the comic book version of '48 Hrs.' -- regardless, it looks like fun.

'Thor: The Dark World' Opens November 8. Here's the film's synopsis:

Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s Thor and Marvel’s The Avengers, Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.
