Three Weeks From Surgery And Sarah’s Having A Mid-Life Crisis

Today, I am three weeks away from getting my head screwed on straight.  February 17th is the day I will conquer chiari.  But, the anticipation is driving me crazy.  I want it over with, already, and want to be on the other side of it recovering.  Knowing that I'm having such a risky surgery, it has me thinking about 'life' and how I've never really done anything truly 'out there'.  

So, this weekend I'm going to do something outside of my scope of normal.  I'm going to take a walk on the wild side.  I'm going to color my hair purple.  Yup, P-U-R-P-L-E!!  OK, I know probably skydiving or riding a bull named 'Fu Manchu' would be more exciting...but my condition doesn't allow me to have such fun.  I have 2 reasons why I want to color my hair purple

1. Purple brings awareness to Chiari Malformation
2. Half my head will be shaved in 3 weeks anyway...so what do I have to lose.

I'm excited.  It's fun to be excited about something.  My daughter and sister-in-law are joining me in this transformation.  Can't wait to share pictures.
