Zipline, a Silicon Valley robotics company seems to be the heroes Rwanda has been looking for. In the past year, they have teamed up with the Rwanda health ministry and integrated the use of drones to aid in the delivery of blood to hospitals desperately in need of it. In the last year they shortened the delivery time from 4 hours to just 30 minutes saving countless lives; and it is all done with the help of an app. All the doctor needs to do is send out a message on the WhatsApp app and within 30 minutes the blood will be dropped for them to pick up outside the hospital. According to Sunny Skyz Zipline plans to work with the government of Tanzania next to launch what it claims is the world's largest drone delivery network.

With their expert delivery time and drive to take this system worldwide, many are referring to Zipline as the Uber of Blood.
