In 1959, the world lost 3 GREAT talented artists and, to remember it for the rest of our lives, Don McLean wrote a song about it that never WILL die.

If I had a dollar for every time I sang this song, I'd be a millionaire!

What a sad day this is...but what a great day to listen to their music that will love on forever.

It was one of America's best known tragedies. When news broke of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper (J.P. RIchardson) in a fatal plane crash, the music world to a huge hit.

All three had to make another show on the 'Winter Dance Party' tour in the next city. Band members had the flu and one even had frostbite!

Here is the kicker...bet you didn't know THESE TWO FACTS!

#1: Waylon Jennings gave up his seat to The Big Bopper.

#2: Dion of Dion and the Belmonts was supposed to be on the plane but wouldn't pay the $36 for the flight.

Here are a few videos to help you remember...or, if you are too young and have never heard of them, let me introduce you to 3 great early artists of Rock 'n Roll.
