Susie Wittington who works for Togas VA was my guest host on the Morning Buzz while Sarah Dyer was on medical leave and she told me about a great event coming to Togas. It’s a VA2K for the Homeless Veteran Program.

The event is to help raise awareness and support the needs of homeless Veterans. The program is designed to get homeless Veterans housed so they can begin a new life. During the VA2K Walk and Roll donations are asked to given to the homeless Veterans program. Items that you would need if you were to move into a new home.

The event is scheduled for Wednesday, May 18 on the Togas Campus in Augusta from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Gazebo. It’s an easy distance of 1.2 miles and can be completed during your 30-minute lunch. There will be a ‘cash only’ cookout, dunk tank, music, health fair and more. A tram will be available.

Participates are asked to donated house hold items that will get our homeless Veterans started in their new homes. Items like bedding for all size beds, silverware, glasses, dishes and dish towels, broom, mop, cleaning supplies, coffer maker and coffee, toilet paper and paper towels, toaster, shower curtain, pots and pans and anything else you can donate to this worthy cause. Please donate only ‘new’ items for our homeless Veterans.
