Tom Brady Faces a $60,500 Tax Bill
Winning the Super Bowl MVP isn’t all that it’s crack up to be. Not when you find out you have to pay the IRS for the privilege of winning. Tom Brady of the New England Patriots won Super Bowl 49’s MVP award and now faces $60,500 tax bill.
Each winning player receives $97,000 for their effort and Brady received a Chevy Colorado pickup truck for winning the MVP. He will be taxed $42,000 on the $97,000, he has to pay tax on the truck which adds up to $13,500, and he has to pay a $5,000 gift tax because he gave the truck to Malcolm Butler. It all adds up to a $60,500 tax bill.
