'30 Rock' creator and star Tina Fey once joked about her fears for co-star Tracy Morgan's safety after the end of their show, but she can worry no longer. It seems the former 'SNL' star has landed on his feet at FX. The one-time Tracy Jordan will star in a new FX single camera comedy pilot titled 'Death Pact,' but will Morgan's new role prove as memorable as his Emmy-nominated '30 Rock' legacy?

Only months after '30 Rock's ultimate end, funnyman Tracy Morgan is already back with a new project. Via Deadline, we've learned that Morgan will take the leading role in FX's single camera comedy pilot 'Death Pact,' created by writer Rob Long ('Cheers') and Tad Safran ('The Long Weekend'), along with producers Eric and Kim Tannenbaum.

Shooting this summer, 'Death Pact' follows a formerly lazy, pot-dealing assistant high school coach who returns to his hometown as a decorated war hero, coming across three down-on-their-luck friends and former students. Morgan's character sucks them into his new radical self-help philosophy, which involves harsh consequences for failure.

“Needless to say, anything starring Tracy Morgan could be off-the-charts hilarious and we’re betting this one is,” says FX EVP of Original Programming Nick Grad. “Rob Long, Tad Safran, Eric Tannenbaum and Kim Tannenbaum have delivered a terrific starring vehicle for Tracy. We look forward to casting the other three co-stars and getting started with production. This is going to be fun.”

What say you? Do you think Tracy Morgan's 'Death Pact' will effectively channel the edgy comedian's talents?
