Tristan McIntosh is a fan of Darius Rucker, and the feeling is mutual.

The former American Idol contestant was invited at the Grand Ole Opry by Rucker after the two performed together Tuesday night (March 22) on the famed Opry circle.

As can be seen in McIntosh's photo caption of the evening, she was pretty excited. "So, I kinda got to talk to @dariusrucker AND HES THE BEST EVER. (HE INVITED ME BACKSTAGE @opry ) MORE EXCITING NEWS COMING LATER," she writes.

McIntosh joined Rucker for a spirited performance of "Wagon Wheel," which she also posted a clip of on her Instagram page.

"Last night was so amazing. I'm honestly still in shock. @dariusrucker was such a great man, and allowed me to share his stage on his closer 'Wagon Wheel' here's a little video- it's not great, but here it is!" she adds.

McIntosh was recently eliminated from American Idol, but the 15-year-old Tennessee native made it to the Top 6 of the reality singing competition before she was sent home. After performing Martina McBride's poignant ballad “Independence Day” on piano while the audience clapped along, McIntosh got lukewarm critiques from all three judges.

“Obviously you’re one of America’s favorites,” Jennifer Lopez told the hopeful, “But if I was to give any advice to you going forward, it would be to try different things because you don’t want to flat line at a certain point and we’re just seeing the same performance over and over.”

With established country stars behind her — Urban is also a fan, and she's performed with Mickey Guyton — McIntosh should be just fine.
