One of cartoons all-time favorite characters, Tweety Bird, made his debut November 21, 1942 in a cartoon called ‘A Tale of Two Kitties’ and went on to star in 49 cartoons.  Bob Clampett based his first Tweety Bird cartoon on Abbott and Costello, naming the two cats Babbit and Catello. Tweety got his name from a combination of sweetie and tweet, and with his high pitched voice and long eye lashes, it was thought his voice was done by a female voice actor but in fact, it was a man.
