Two people have survived a Knox car accident thanks to the help of strangers.

According to WMTW, the accident happened around noon yesterday (December 11th) on Purple Heart Highway in Knox.  The SUV, occupied by two people and a couple dogs, slid off the road and into a frozen spring, landing upside down.

Dwayne Keller and Susan Pelletier were driving by as the accident happened.  They waded into the waist deep freezing water to get the occupants out of the vehicle.

The SUV's driver and passenger were not identified.  They were taken to a Belfast hospital.  The dogs are expected to be okay.
