If you are heading out of Maine or coming back to the state using the Maine Turnpike after March 21 get your food, coffee and gas before you get to the Gray and Cumberland Service Plazas.

On Monday, March 21 they will close for renovations.
Both Service Plazas will be closed for about nine weeks as they make changes to the northbound Gray Service Plaza and the southbound Cumberland Plaza. It’s a $3 million project where both plazas will get rid of the Starbucks and replace them with Drive-Thru Burger Kings.
The idea is to offer more hot food options and the convenience of a drive-thru. The renovations are expected to be completed by Memorial Day.

The Maine Turnpike Plazas in West Gardiner and Kennebunk will remain open.
