Many football players have used the phrase, its a dream come true during the last few days of the NFL draft. Now former UMaine Black Bear Kendall James can use that same phrase.James was selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the 6th round of the draft on Saturday with the 184th overall pick. He has been in full football mode since August when the cornerback began the regular season with the Bears and didn't end with that playoff loss to UNH. James attended the NFL combine has been working with personal trainers and working out for various teams.

James becomes the first UMaine player to be drafted since 2012 when Jerron McMillian was selected in the 4th round by the Green Bay Packers. He will also become the 51st Black Bear to sign with an NFL team and is the 15th to be drafted.

Former Black Bear tight end Justin Perillo is scheduled to be in Green Bay today where he will sign an undrafted free agent contract with the Packers according to several reports form Green Bay. Perillo played in 44 games in a UMaine uniform where he caught 128 passes for 1,318 yards and 15 touchdowns.
