I had a great time at the Union Fair last night. B-98.5 was there Union Fair Talent Show. The final 8 acts performed, all the acts were between ages 8 and 18, and what a great bunch of talented young people! The winner of the Union Fair talent show was 11-year old Daisy Lee, she sang and played guitar to a great Hank Williams, Jr. song.

The people with the Union Fair are so nice! President of the Union Fair, Ron Hawes, was so down-to-earth and I was very impressed with the poise and intelligence of the Maine Wild Blueberry Queen, Elise Wallace, and the Wild Blueberry Crown Princess, Brittney Anthony.

The Union Fair continues through Saturday and here are some of the highlights yet to come:

The midway will open at 1pm today through Friday and on noon on Saturday. There is harness racing at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. Wednesday will also feature fireworks at 8:30 p.m.

Thursday will feature the demolition derby at 7 p.m.

On Friday, Greg Bates will be in concert at 8 p.m.

The final day of the Union Fair on Saturday will wrap up with agriculture events, truck pulling and the midway closing at 9:30 p.m.
