The Garry Owen Motorcycle Club is looking at raising money to build a homeless shelter for veterans. The idea came about three years ago, the members of the Garry Owen motorcycle club have helped local veterans and their families in the past few years. They have bought propane for the wife of a Knox County Vietnam War veterans who was dying of cancer and they have also filled the woodshed for the widow of a World War II veteran from Freedom, Maine.The Club is looking at building a 24-bed shelter on a seven-acre parcel of land located at the Montville-Liberty town line.

The group is trying to raise $750,000 to make this happen. You can help by making a donation to the Garry Owen House at any branch of Bangor Savings Bank.
