Kevin Mannix joined WCSH-TV in Portland in 1989 and was a longtime fixture as the weather forecaster during the morning news. Mannix left the morning news this past October and was doing weather during the noon news.

He announced on Wednesday, that this Friday's noon news will be his last as a full-time employee of the television station.

Mannix said 'being your weatherman the last 25 years has been an honor and one heck of a lot of fun. Weather has been my passion, but the time has come to devote more time to my new passion.'

That passion is a book he is working on, 'Weathering Shame',

Mannix added that he will from time to time fill in at the station and will be adding more details on Thursday.
