I'm creating my menu.  Preparing to have my mom, brother and sister-in-law over for Thanksgiving...in addition to my 6 kids and hubby.  I love cooking at home because I know I will LOVE everything...because...well, I made it.

I'm not saying I'm the best cook.  That's not the case at all.  But, I'm a very picky eater and it always seems to amaze me what people include with their Holiday dinner.  I'm sure people can look at my spread and find something "odd" as well.  For example, I love to make sweet potatoes with marshmallows roasted on top.  Others look at that and think I'm crazy.

One item I avoid, and never understood how it made the list, is boiled onions.  Why?  The little tiny ones.  Blech!  I also don't understand canned cranberry sauce.  You bust your tush cooking an amazing meal, only to ruin it by opening a can of cranberry sauce.  I prefer cranberry relish made from fresh berries...lots of sugar and oranges.

While on the subject of cutting corners, let's address the stuffing.  I'm sorry, but if it comes from a box...it's not stuffing.  It's croutons that get soggy when you add water.  Seriously, make real stuffing.
