I hope that you and your family had a great Christmas. Now that all of the gifts have been opened and it's time to take down the Christmas tree, how do you dispose of it? Here are some choices that you can look into on recycling the tree.

1. Check for curbside pick-up for recycling: Call your town or city office to see if they will be collecting trees during their regular pickup schedule.

2. See if non-profit groups, like the Boy Scouts, are offering a pickup service for a small donation.

3. Take your tree to a drop off recycling center. Many Home Depot locations are collecting Christmas Trees free of charge. Most counties have free drop-off locations.

Here are details specifically for Augusta. Augusta will be recycling Christmas Trees starting on December 26th. Drop off your tree at the Public Works Department on North Street between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. You can also drop off your tree at the Hatch Hill Solid Waste Facility on South Belfast Avenue, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m, Tuesday through Saturday.

Augusta will not have curbside pickup of Christmas trees.
