The Ice Out contest for Wilson Lake will be returning after being gone for a few years. Bruce Dyke is organizing the event for the Wilton Fish & Game Association. Dyke tells the Lewiston Sun-Journal that he suggested and volunteered to organize the event. It will cost $5 an entry, with the winner guessing the closest month, day, hour and minute for ice out on Wilson Lake. The prize is $100.Money raised from the contest will support the association programs. The Wilton Fish & Game Association purpose is to promote good sportsmanship and conservation of wildlife and natural resources.

History shows that between 2000 and 2009, Wilson Lake's ice out date has ranged from April 14th to May 4th. Mr.Dyke is already taking entries for the 2013 Wilson Lake Ice Out Contest. To get an entry form to join the contest, call him at 645-2131. Forms may be mailed with the month, day, hour and minute guess, your name, phone number and a $5 entry fee to Bruce Dyke, P.O.Box 605, Wilton,ME 04294.

The Wilton Fish & Game Association would also like to invite you to join in on their annual Ice Fishing Derby on Sunday, February 17th. Winners will be awarded for the heaviest fish in youth and adult categories.
