The Winslow Family 4th of July pulled off a free country concert with country music star John Michael Montgomery, and it paid off with thousands attending and donations adding up for the show to break even.

Kevin Douglass, committee chairman, told the Kennebec Journal, that John Michael Montgomery enjoyed his time and expressed interest of being part of it again'.

Douglass hinted that the committee has begun negotiating with acts who have been prominent more recently in the country music scene than Montgomery, who had a string of success in the 1990's.

The committee will start planning for next year's 25th annual celebration very soon!

Did you go to the free concert? What were your thoughts? Who would you like to see in concert next year?
