Words You May Not Know and What They Mean
Everything has a name or a word associated with it. You may not know the name or may call it something else, but all things have a legitimate name assigned to it. Taking a look at some you probably don’t know (I know I didn’t) but there may a few you have heard before.
Wamble: stomach rumbling.
Aglet: the plastic coating on a shoelace. (I have heard of this one before but never remember it)
Glabella: the space between you eyebrows.
Soufflé Cup: a cup that holds ketchup or other condiments.
Nurdle: a tiny dab of toothpaste.
Cornicione: the outer part of the crust on a pizza.
Overmorrow: the day after tomorrow
Punt: the bottom of a wine bottle, the underside that is usually rounded up.
Keeper: the loop on the belt that keeps the end in place.
Zarf: the card board sleeve on a coffee cup.
Minimus: your little toe or finger.
Collywobbles: butterflies in your stomach.
Griffonage: unreadable handwriting.
Vocable: the na na nas and la la las in song lyrics that don’t have a meaning.
There are a lot more words like this. Just think how good you would be at scrabble if you could master some these.
