Scary scene at the Auburn Mall this (Feb. 19) afternoon. Right around 1:30 pm, a worker who was shoveling snow from the roof, fell through a skylight. He dropped to the cement floor at the Center Court of the mall.

On-lookers told the Sun/Journal that emergency workers arrived within 3 to 5 minutes of the accident and that he tried to fight EMTs as they were working to load him on a stretcher.

The unidentified worker was clearing snow and working near a plexiglass skylight that was covered by snow and appeared to have stepped on it. It broke and he fell through the ceiling and on to the floor below.

He was taken to Central Maine Medical Center about 10 minutes after the initial call.
