Giant George wasn’t called giant for nothing, The Great Dane was named in 2010 by the Guinness Book of World Records as the tallest dog in the world. He was 3 feet, seven inches from paw to shoulder and stood 7 feet, three inches when on his hind legs. Giant George passed away just a couple of weeks shy of his 8th birthday.

David Nesser, George’s owner, adopted the Great Dane eight years ago and described him as the runt of the litter, but boy did he grow! Nesser would take George to the park and have to ride along in a golf cart as George would run through the park galloping like a graceful horse.

Nesser said George brought so much love to his family that it will take about six months to decide if they will get another dog.
