Wrestling Rebirth

Professional wrestling has seen a rebirth here in Central Maine. B-98.5 has been involved with some of the area local shows and I was quite surprised to see how large the crowds were.

I attended a show in Fairfield earlier this year and there had to be close to 250 people packing the Fairfield Community Center! Then, as part of the Winslow 4^th of July Celebration, a free wrestling show at Fort Halifax attracted a big crowd!

I was like a little kid at the Winslow show, getting my picture with WWE Hall Of Famer, Tony Atlas and with the lovely Maria!

Fairfield’s own Cameron Matthews is a large reason why these events have been so successful. Not only is he a talented athlete in the ring, he’s a major force in organizing these successful events! Cameron has brought in some major names from national wrestling organizations and there’s also a good crop of local talent.

These local wrestling shows are affordable family entertainment. These are athletes and their dedication is to be applauded. It’s wicked fun! Check out a show the next time they are in town! Find out when Pro Wrestling Events in Maine will be coming to your town.
