Fox announced that 'The X-Files' will be returning to television as a six-episode run. The show first aired from 1993 to 2002 on Fox and won 16 Emmys. The television show also lead to two films.

David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson will be reprising their roles of Agents Mulder and Scully.

The show's creator Chris Carter will be in charge of the revival.

The show will begin production this summer with an air date to be announced at a later time.
