With Halloween just around the corner it makes sense Canada is using Zombie’s to boost awareness about learning CPR. The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada want people to know the technique and proper timing when administering CPR. The commercial, which is Hollywood quality, shows a woman seeking to escape zombies but being cornered by a swarm of them and having a heart attack. One of the zombies calls 911 while another performs CPR. The title card at the end of the Public Service Announcement says ’CPR makes you undead.’ 

The campaign will run throughout the month of October to spread awareness that CPR, when done properly, saves lives. It’s estimated that only 5% of people who suffer from cardiac arrest outside the hospital survive. The Foundation hosts lifesaving events all month and is partnered with Toronto’s Zombie Walk, which is attended by thousands, to raise awareness for CPR.
