We have been writing a lot about our 13th annual 'TANKsgiving Food Drive' but I want to take a minute to thank the Maine Army National Guard, especially the 152nd Maintenance Division, for all their help and service during the week of collecting food. The men and women of the 152nd have volunteered their time and energy every year we have the food drive. Without their service to the community we couldn't do what we do. They stand at area grocery stores 8 hours a day, no matter the weather, and ask for donations. This year I would like to point out two soldiers that kept things running smooth despite minor problems that kept popping up. Sergeant First Class Frank Nile and Specialist Sarah Grant made the week possible by scheduling, collecting and always being there for us at B98.5. Without their help we would not have collected the amount of food and money we did. The fact is, when the community needs help, it’s the Maine Army National Guard that’s always there. B98.5 thanks you too for all the donations that came in and the enthusiasm everyone has for our '''TANKsgiving Food Drive.' Plans are already being discussed for next year and our 14th annual. With the 7 tons of food and close to $4,000 in cash donations, a lot of central Maine families will have food on their table and it’s all thanks to you, the community, and the Maine Army National Guard.
